The Lutterloh System is a tried and tested patternmaking method that was invented by Maria Lutterloh in Germany in 1935. Our one-day workshop teaches participants how to make perfect made-to-measure patterns for any size, figure/shape and style for ladies, gents and children's wear using the unique LUTTERLOH patternmaking method. It is quick and easy to learn, is less time-consuming and is user-friendly enough to be utilized by beginners and experts alike.
* Only two measurements (Bust & Hip) are used to make each pattern. There is no need to take lots of measurements and make tedious calculations because everything else down to the last detail has been pre-calculated, save for one or two minor adjustments e.g. waistline size or desired length of garment.
* Using a special sizing scale, trainees will be able to make patterns for attractive, perfect-fitting clothes for themselves, their families and/or their clientele.
* The Lutterloh patternmaking training equips trainees with skills to draft and cut any Lutterloh pattern to fit 23 different sizes - from a toddler to a very full figure.
*For the creative mind, Lutterloh patterns can be used as basic blocks. There's no limit to the combination possibilities which enable patternmakers to create their own designs; the Lutterloh Pattern System enables one to create new designs by combining collars, sleeves, tops and bottoms from different patterns. In other words, our system allows for patterns to be manipulated as desired to create one’s own designs. Lutterloh System has been used by fashion designers and in fashion design schools around the world. Currently our method of pattern drafting is available in 17 different languages. Unlike regular patterns like McCalls, Simplicity, Vogue, Burda or Butterick that are made for certain sizes the Lutterloh System works for individual measurements. Therefore our custom made patterns provide an excellent fit also for people that don’t have a commercial size.
