Started to photograph my patients in the film era (early 90s), mostly macro shots of teeth/mouth before and after surgical procedures or specific clinical situations, only for didactical purpose. Only in 2009 I decided to invest in a digital camera. Soon I realized how different it was from my old film camera. Started to photograph the nature in the neighborhoods during my free time, walking with
my dogs. Birds and butterflies became an obsession in that time, and suddenly I was carrying a 70-300mm everywhere. I still enjoy to photograph wildlife! I've been studying photography more seriously since 2011, when I received formal instruction at the University (unfortunately never concluded the graduate studies). A turning point happened when I started a personal project with starry night photography. Probably influenced by the Carl Sagan's Cosmos series, it became the next obsession. I won some amateur contests with my first images. It was challenging but also rewarding. Since 2011 I have been visiting the Atacama desert every year, my dark sky paradise. In 2013, I visited the ALMA Observatory for the first time after showing them a time lapse project. After my first results, I was invited to conduct night photography workshops as a recreational activity for their employees. Some results can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/121217646. Tribute to Carl Sagan (https://1x.com/photo/954825) was taken during one of those opportunities. Due to my contribution, I was invited to become an ESO Photo Ambassador in 2014 (http://www.eso.org/public/outreach/partnerships/photo-ambassadors/#aduro).
