1 Peter 5:8-9

**Introduction:**
Brothers and sisters, today's message focuses on a vital passage regarding our spiritual battle: 1 Peter 5:8-9: "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world." This passage reminds us of the reality of spiritual warfare and encourages us to stand firm against the enemy.

**Main Point:**
Peter's words are a call to vigilance and action. We are not exempt from spiritual attacks; the devil, our adversary, actively seeks to harm us. He is described as a "roaring lion," a powerful and dangerous predator. His goal is to "devour," to destroy our faith and our relationship with God. But we are not defenseless. The command to "resist him" is crucial. Resistance is not passive avoidance; it's an active, conscious choice to stand against the devil's temptations and attacks. This resistance is fueled by our "faith," our unwavering trust in God's power and promises.

**Conclusion**

----- Fight against Division-----

Jesus christ has already united us believers to the father and to himself and he's calling us into the ministry of Unity.
Child of God pray and avoid these things which are the sources of division in the body of christ;
Jealousy, envy, competition, gossiping, condemning, self-centeredness, etc read Galatians 5:19-21. When someone is practicing some of these things or all, it is a sign that such a life is already divided.
This kind of person will carry division to the family from family to groups, groups to church and nation etc. As a messenger of the Good news of Unity in Christ, these things should not be part of you.
Let your hearts and mind be full of love, joy, peace in the Holy ghost for this is our nature in Christ.
I pray for you and your family any evil wind against you stop in Jesus Christ name.
