Hey! I’m Ilse, Co-founder of Studio Macho, where my love for graphic design, branding, and illustration meets the art of screenprinting. 💜 From custom clothing to exhibitions, I’m all about creating work that feels tangible and meaningful. I started this studio to bring the magic of print to life in a world that’s increasingly digital. Alongside my part-time role as a graphic designer in an agency, being part of this collective of makers is my non digital passion.

At Studio Macho, we build everything by hand—starting with our custom wooden studio space. Together with my co-founder, we’re a collective of makers dedicated to creating high-quality, original prints on textiles and clothing. I’m all about creating unique pieces that tell stories, whether it’s through personal artwork or branding projects that push creative boundaries.

As a screenprinting and design collective it’s time to present it’s founders. Both with their specific focus and strenghts. First up is Barbara!

Hi there! I’m the co-founder of a screenprinting studio STUDIO MACHO. As a self-taught screenprinter, it’s been a journey of trial and error, and I’ve completely fallen in love with the process of learning and mastering the craft. What hooked me? The perfect mix of technique and versatility. From analogue to digital, small to big formats—I thrive on experimenting and pushing boundaries.
Workshops are my jam—they’re not just about teaching; they’re about sharing energy, ideas, and keeping the craft alive.

In my screenprinting and personal work, I often explore themes like intergenerational trauma, using the medium to tell stories and spark conversations. Outside the studio, I’m into all things DIY.
Screenprinting is my passion, but connecting with people through creativity is what drives me.

New work for .We made a series of 2 big printworks with positive photofilms from our latest expo, “Everything is Everything”, where we combined screen printed photographs of still live, nature, monoprints and textured fragments of the Duivelsteen. By reusing them in this series, the images find new life again, in the public space. We created this series partly during a workshop organised by Broei.lab. We asked the participants to go wild with the photofilms. Afterwards we worked and reworked the prints by adding layers and colours changing the composition as we went.
