BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's family has again appealed to the government for her permanent release. An application for permanent release was handed over to Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Tuesday afternoon, citing his illness and taking him abroad for medical treatment. Khaleda Zia's younger brother Shamim Iskander signed the petition on behalf of the family. In the petition, Shamim Iskander referred to himself as Khaleda Zia's brother.
