তরুণদের নতুন দল (এনসিপি) নিয়ে এদেশের মানুষের অনেক আগ্রহ তৈরী হয়েছিল কিন্তু নির্বাচনের পরেই এই দলটি জামাতের গর্তে ঢুকে গেল। দেশের অধিকাংশ মানুষ জানে না এনসিপি কত আসন পেয়েছে, সবাই বলতেছে জামাত জোট এতো আসন পেয়েছে।

বিএনপি অন্তত ১৫-২০ কনফার্ম আসন হারিয়েছে দলীয় কোন্দল আর ভুল সিদ্ধান্তের কারনে!

আমার মা, বিএনপি চেয়ারপারসন বেগম খালেদা জিয়া, সর্বশক্তিমান আল্লাহর ডাকে সাড়া দিয়ে আজ আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেছেন। ইন্না লিল্লাহি ওয়া ইন্না ইলাইহি রাজিউন।

অনেকের কাছে তিনি ছিলেন দেশনেত্রী, আপোষহীন নেত্রী; অনেকের কাছে গণতন্ত্রের মা, বাংলাদেশের মা। আজ দেশ গভীরভাবে শোকাহত এমন একজন পথপ্রদর্শককে হারিয়ে, যিনি দেশের গণতান্ত্রিক পথযাত্রায় অনিঃশেষ ভূমিকা রেখেছেন।

আমার কাছে খালেদা জিয়া একজন মমতাময়ী মা, যিনি নিজের সমগ্র জীবন উৎসর্গ করেছেন দেশ ও মানুষের জন্য। আজীবন লড়েছেন স্বৈরাচার, ফ্যাসিবাদ ও আধিপত্যবাদের বিরুদ্ধে; নেতৃত্ব দিয়েছেন স্বাধীনতা, সার্বভৌমত্ব ও গণতন্ত্র প্রতিষ্ঠার সংগ্রামে।

ত্যাগ ও সংগ্রামে ভাস্বর হয়েও, তিনি ছিলেন পরিবারের সত্যিকারের অভিভাবক; এমন একজন আলোকবর্তিকা যাঁর অপরিসীম ভালোবাসা আমাদের সবচেয়ে কঠিন সময়েও শক্তি ও প্রেরণা যুগিয়েছে। তিনি বারবার গ্রেফতার হয়েছেন, চিকিৎসা থেকে বঞ্চিত হয়েছেন, সর্বোচ্চ নিপীড়নের শিকার হয়েছেন। তবুও যন্ত্রণা, একাকিত্ব ও অনিশ্চয়তার মধ্যে থেকেও তিনি অদম্য সাহস, সহানুভূতি ও দেশপ্রেম সঞ্চার করেছিলেন পরিবারের প্রতিটি সদস্যের মাঝে।

দেশের জন্য তিনি হারিয়েছেন স্বামী, হারিয়েছেন সন্তান। তাই এই দেশ, এই দেশের মানুষই ছিল তাঁর পরিবার, তাঁর সত্তা, তাঁর অস্তিত্ব। তিনি রেখে গেছেন জনসেবা, ত্যাগ ও সংগ্রামের এক অবিস্মরণীয় ইতিহাস, যা বাংলাদেশের গণতান্ত্রিক পরিক্রমায় চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে।

আপনারা সবাই আমার মা’র জন্য দোয়া করবেন। তাঁর প্রতি দেশবাসীর আবেগ, ভালোবাসা ও বৈশ্বিক শ্রদ্ধায় আমি ও আমার পরিবার চিরকৃতজ্ঞ।

My mother, BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, has responded to the call of Almighty Allah and left us today. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un (Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return).

To many, she was the leader of the nation, an uncompromising leader, the Mother of Democracy, the Mother of Bangladesh. Today, the country mourns the loss of a guiding presence that shaped its democratic aspirations.
To me, Khaleda Zia was a tender and loving mother who devoted her entire life to the country and its people. Throughout her life, she stood firm against autocracy, fascism, and domination, leading the struggle for freedom, sovereignty, and the restoration of democracy.

Though her life was illuminated by sacrifice and struggle, at home she was our truest guardian, a mother whose infinite love gave us strength in our darkest moments. She endured repeated arrests, denial of medical care, and relentless persecution. Yet even in pain, confinement, and uncertainty, she never stopped sheltering her family with courage and compassion. Her resilience was not loud, but it was unbreakable.

For the country, she lost her husband; she lost her child. In that loss, this nation and its people became her family, her purpose, her very soul. She leaves behind an unforgettable legacy of patriotism, sacrifice, and resistance, a legacy that will live on in the democratic conscience of Bangladesh.

I ask you all to pray for my mother. For the profound emotion, love, and respect shown by the people of this country and by the world, my family and I remain eternally grateful.
