Which one is correct?
My brother is taller than me.
Or
My brother is taller than I.
Both sentences are common, but they’re not equally correct in formal grammar:
1. My brother is taller than me. ✅
This is the way most native speakers say it in everyday conversation. It’s perfectly natural in spoken English.
2. My brother is taller than I. ✅ (formal)
This is grammatically correct if you understand it as “My brother is taller than I am.”
It sounds more formal or old-fashioned, so people rarely use it in casual speech.
👉 So:
In spoken English: “My brother is taller than me” is more common.
In formal writing (essays, exams, etc.): “My brother is taller than I” is safer.
Nothing in this world lasts forever, not even our suffering.
