As it stands, Bangladesh may run out of required internet bandwidth as early as 2023. Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) is still keeping everyone in the dark about how the authorities plan to deal with the bandwidth crisis. Sources say that the problem will be solved after the country’s third submarine cable SEA-ME-WE-6 arrives in the middle of 2024, but after the current bandwidth validity runs out, Bangladesh faces the risk of having to spend two years with no bandwidth to handle the increased internet traffic and the deficit will be met from Indian providers.
