Dogs are fascinating because their list of needs is somehow both incredibly short and wildly specific.

Bandit wakes up every day wanting:
• a little adventure
• a snack he can crunch dramatically
• someone to tell him he’s handsome
• a soft place to land
• quality time with his people

And meanwhile humans are out here needing hydration, therapy, a tax professional, eight unanswered emails resolved, closure from 2014, magnesium glycinate, and a personality quiz to explain why we cried in the grocery store. 🌲🐾

Sometimes I think dogs accidentally hold up a mirror to us. They remind us that life feels a little steadier when we stop treating joy like it has to be earned first.

Fresh air helps.
Rest helps.
Being excited to see someone helps.
Tiny routines help.
Having someone sit beside you quietly helps more than most people realize.
Bandit’s philosophy is basically:
“Did you eat a snack and look at a tree today?”

I’m Alysha, creator, storyteller, and the human behind this page trying to balance motherhood, chronic illness, creativity, and approximately one million animals staring at me while I eat string cheese.

And this is Bandit, my service dog, adventure sidekick, professional emotional support employee, and self-appointed CEO of quality control.

But this page isn’t just about one dog.
It’s about the entire animal crew that helped shape my life into something softer, fuller, louder, and infinitely hairier.
