A photo I took in the Goldfields, WA, sharing because it’s National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day - a day to celebrate the importance of family and culture for children. I didn’t know the history or significance of this date and found this on aboriginalchildrensday.com.au :
The date 4 August was historically used to communally celebrate the birthdays of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children who were taken from their families at a young age, without knowing their birthday – the Stolen Generations.

I’m still here. Isolation is still here. Babies are still being born. Work is still possible and I want new parents to know that even using just the front of their homes with safe distance, we can still celebrate new life and make beautiful memories. If you or someone you know in Brisbane has lost work and has a newbie in their house (or on the way) tag below or message and I’ll choose one at random to get in touch with to offer a mini shoot for free, just outside the house. It’s a bloody tough time for some (I know!) especially with a baby and I’d love to help celebrate new love safely during this challenging time and provide photos that can be shared with family and friends far and wide ❤️
