New Found Heights is a new collective of hip hop artists from Perth, WA. Brining in a fresh sound that is almost reminiscent of the early years of West Australian Hip Hop, their roots throughout this country are strong, and they have built a following already, both as individuals and a collective. RichoKidd, NFH have 20+ years experience combined. Reality, a 25 year old MC, born in Adelaide, and raised in Townsville, has been a part of the hip hop community for over 10+ years, being inducted into it by a Townsville rapper known as Buttah The Verbal Wordsmith (Skratch Hound Productions). Since moving to Perth in 2011 Reality has been working tirelessly writing lyrics, recoding new material and performing at live shows. He has supported the likes of Hopsin & Swizz, LAUNCH Block Party, Daniel Ray, NJE. Brining a unique, upbeat, funky style, Reality is very versatile when it comes to flow and subject matter. Reality is influenced by the likes of SBX (Downsyde, Funkola, Optamus, Drapht), Hilltop Hoods, Funkoars, Brad Strut & Bias B. Finally, a long serving member of the West Australian Hip Hop community, Official DJ for NFH, MC & DJ RichoKidd, has been attending shows since 2009 but has been a fan of Australian hip hop since 2004. He began teaching himself DJing in early 2009 after attending countless live shows and, not only enjoying the rappers performance, but paying extra attention to the way the DJ’s would cut the record, and scratch and keep the crowd entertained between sets. He took to rapping in 2011, after freestyling at shows with many other Perth local underground rappers. Being influenced hugely by local artists like Hunter, Dazastah, Downsyde, Drapht as well as rappers from across the country. As an MC, he has a story ability that is second to none, awesome flow and strong stage presence, as a DJ he has supported an array of artist. Now, combining his skill behind the decks and a supremely talented MC, it is clear they have set themselves goals of creating something beautiful for this scene to marvel at. With that old school, funky sound, strong stage presence and impeccable flow, New Found Heights are a crew that you must keep your eyes peeled for. Already supporting the founding fathers of West Oz Hip Hop, Syllabolix, as well as playing at Mom’s Spaghetti, Phatcap and many other hip hop nights in the country, the growth of this new collective in such a short time has been noticeable.
