Tagged by the Pirate 🏴‍☠️ with Tants at the helm and Jon on the rod during the Perth Game Fishing Club Marlin Cup, Azure had his tag on from the 14th of February until the 31st of April.

WAGFA Research is crunching data and will have the distance tomorrow to see who will win the Richter Lures Zulu

First billfish satellite tracked out of the Rottnest trench 🤙

Azure’s tag is still squeaking out its location information as satellites zoom across overhead.

The tag released early on day 91 instead of day 120 and came off the fish without burning the pin. Hopefully he wasn’t Meg’d 🦈

The trickle upload is still happening as the golf ball sized tracker is bobbing around the Indian Ocean. Once the tag has uploaded all of its data, we can finally model where it went.

We have a crew from Broome Fishing Club and Perth Game Fishing Club heading out this morning on 2 Broad to satellite tag the first ever broadbill swordfish from the Perth Canyon

Azura’s sat tag has broken off and is currently floating around transmitting data in small packages at satellites 🛰️ pass over.

We have to do some calculations with the light and sensors and things to get the underwater locations. Stay tuned!
