Stress or enjoyment. How would you like your reno?
Experience reveals a very distinct pattern between renovations that go smoothly and those that are bumpy at best.
The difference is how aligned to the process the person remains without going on a tangent (or ten!)
When you allow yourself to be guided by a Designer, your project will be fun and effortless.
Likewise, when you go rogue, things can spiral out of control very quickly 😫
💁🏻♀️ You don’t just hire a Designer to come up with a design. You hire a Designer because they actually know how to turn your design into a reality.
A Designer achieves this by making the right moves and connecting the right people at the right times, that are specific to your project’s needs.
Designer first… always 🙂

Half Wall OR Wall Niche...??
This was a question that came up quite a lot over the weekend at the Home Show. People were asking me which was best for their reno.
As always, I returned serve with a few questions of my own...
➡️ is the existing wall stud frame or brick?
➡️ is the existing wall an internal wall (single leaf) or an external wall (double leaf)?
➡️ what do you want/need to store upon it?
➡️ what else surrounds it?
➡️ have you purchased your tiles already?
Before I could provide the utmost appropriate solution for each person, I needed to know a little more about their home, their lifestyle and where they are in the journey.
This, along with several other decisions in a renovation or new build project really are unique to the home and family needs. It’s why I don’t typically follow trends... because what others deem as best, isn’t always ideal for you. We treat those as inspo, not influence 😉
To help our clients determine the right fit for them, we ask a series of questions that have them think about how they use each area of their home and what they need from that room now, and into the future.
To help further, we even created a Room X Room guide for everyone to access via Bronz Hub, that has prompts for every single room of your house!

Oh and here’s my MOST IMPORTANT TIP when it comes to half walls and niches...
Tiling to external corners needs to be considered. A heavily textured or glazed tile will not mitre (external corner cut) easily and can end up with an unfavourable wobbly or thick grout/silicone join, which will totally detract from the fancy feature it was meant to be!
Yes, you can use a tile trim but one may argue that cheapens the look.
Same with a butt join (eww gross!)
Best to stick with a smoother rectified tile OR create some sort of decorative frame that tile edges can run up to. This way you get a unique design that looks sleek and will provide longevity in your bathroom 😀
