Perth immersion is the best way to showcase WA’s education—and today was a perfect example! We had the pleasure of accompanying students from Nanjing Xiaozhuang University on a visit to Curtin University.

A huge Thank-you to Curtin University for hosting such a well-organised and engaging tour. The students were impressed by the state-of-the-art facilities, comprehensive resources, and warm campus atmosphere.

The Curtin Library was a particular highlight, serving as a hub for learning, research, and student support. Within it, the Makerspace gave students hands-on experience with 3D printing, electronics, multimedia, and handicrafts in a safe and creative environment. The Sanctuary offered a tranquil space to recharge, with comfortable seating, ambient lighting, and calming sensory elements.

Special thanks to the Student Engagement team at Curtin Business School for an interactive session that brought the student experience to life.

For Graduate Work stream visa applications lodged from 1st July 2023, applicants must hold a qualification relevant to an occupation on the MLTSSL list and undergo a skills assessment in the nominated occupation.

From 1 July 2023, the Job Ready Program Registration and Eligibility (JRPRE) will cease to be part of the JRP and will no longer be available on the TRA Online Portal. Removal of the requirement for applicants to submit evidence of 360 hours of employment ‘exposure’ or vocational placement.

From 1 July 2023, the Australian Government will re-introduce limits on the number of work hours allowed for student visa holders (subclass 500) studying and working in Australia.

From 1 July 2023, the number of work hours allowed during study terms and semesters will be capped at the increased amount of 48 hours per fortnight, during study terms and semesters.

The Australian Government has also announced that student visa holders already working in the aged care sector on 9 May 2023 can continue to work unrestricted hours in the aged care sector until 31 December 2023.
