Here’s the thing though - the algorithm isn’t entirely wrong. It’s not about effort, it’s about behaviour. Did people watch it to the end? Did they DM it to a friend? Did they rewatch it?
A 8-second nothing can tick all those boxes. So can an edited piece - if the first 3 seconds hooks someone hard enough to stay.
The real answer? The algorithm doesn’t care how long you spent.
It cares what people do when they see it.
Make the stuff you love. Just make sure the first 3 seconds make someone forget to scroll.
