Things have been busy in Nyama-jima recently and it’s finally time to tell you about some key updates to bring in the new year!

🍀 Firstly we’re extremely excited to announce that Nyamaha alumni and Dane will be reuniting with us for one set next Thursday night at The Bird in Northbridge (slide 2)! It’s been two years since Eon’s last performance with us so don’t miss this rare opportunity 😎

💚 Secondly, for those of you who were unable to make J-rock Live House last year or read the above paragraph, it’s true. We are very saddened to formally announce the departure of lead guitarist Dane from Nyamaha. Dane joined us back in April 2023 and was immediately an integral member of the band taking care of recording on some of our bigger projects and stepping in to learn some monster parts on short notice. We’re still pretty sure he’s some kind of wizard or at least a high-level sorcerer (the ushanka is likely the source of his power), and we’re going to miss him and his antics dearly. We wish him all the best with the next stage of his life 🫡

🤍 Thirdly, we’re pleased to finally announce that after auditioning a few excellent candidates, Austin (slide 3) has Joined Nyamaha on lead guitar. Austin has already played a few gigs with us and we’re confident we have found someone exceedingly worthy of carrying the Nyamaha guitarist flame. We look forward to playing even more gigs with him in 2026 🎸
