10 habits I had to let go of that were keeping me stuck 7kg heavier
1. I stopped treating food like the highlight of my day. It’s fuel, not something that needed to be put on a pedestal.
2. I stopped eating like someone with completely different energy needs. My portions needed to reflect my body and lifestyle.
3. I cut back on constant snacking, especially on processed foods. I realised I didn’t need more food, I needed better nutrients.
4. I stopped eating just to feel “full.” If I’d already eaten enough, I had to check in… was I actually tired, dehydrated, or just bored?
5. I slowed down when I ate. When you rush your meals, your body doesn’t even get the chance to register that it’s satisfied.
6. I stopped saying yes to meals I didn’t even want. That was just people pleasing, and learning to say no helped me build self trust.
7. I stopped over-ordering when eating out. Sharing or keeping it simple helped me enjoy the experience without overeating.
8. I stopped trying to make every meal as high volume as possible. What I really needed was structure that aligned with my goals.
9. I worked on regulating my stress. Living in constant fight or flight was impacting my digestion, recovery, and overall health.
10. I stopped using food as a reward. It’s not something you earn, it’s something your body needs to function and feel its best.
