🧡 Ginger's Recovery Journey Begins... 🐾
After the incredible support and well wishes we received yesterday, we wanted to share another update on our brave little fighter, Ginger.
The first thing we're delighted to tell you is... Ginger had a wonderful first night home. 🧡 He rested well, enjoyed a peaceful night's sleep and, this morning, was patiently waiting for breakfast... followed, of course, by plenty more cuddles!
Yesterday morning, Ginger was lovingly dropped off for surgery by his wonderful foster carer, Laura. Before he left, there were plenty of cuddles (which Ginger was more than happy to accept!) and one last "see you later" before he headed off for his big adventure.
It didn't take long for this sweet little boy to steal the hearts of everyone he met. With his beautiful nature and those irresistible eyes, it's easy to see why everyone fell in love with him.
The surgery itself was long, and waiting for the phone call felt like forever. Then came the words we had all been hoping and praying to hear...
"We've saved his leg." 🧡
The relief, joy and emotion in that moment are difficult to put into words. It was the news we had all been wishing for.
Later that evening, Ginger was home, beginning the next stage of his journey to recovery.
Despite everything he had been through, he tucked into his dinner, happily accepted lots of cuddles and then settled in for a peaceful night's sleep. Ginger was checked on several times throughout the night, and each time he was resting comfortably.
This morning, Ginger greeted the day in true Ginger fashion... breakfast first, then, yes, you guessed it... more cuddles! 🥰
At just 14 weeks old, Ginger has shown incredible courage throughout this entire ordeal. He has faced every challenge with such bravery and has reminded us all just how resilient these tiny little souls can be. We couldn't be prouder of our brave little boy.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the amazing veterinary team who cared for Ginger. Their compassion, dedication and incredible skill have given this little boy the opportunity to grow up with the happy, active life he deserves, and for that we will be forever grateful.
A very special thank you also goes to Laura. From showering Ginger with cuddles before his surgery, to being there for him every step of the way, your love and dedication have meant the world. Foster carers are the heart of rescue, and Ginger is so very lucky to have you in his corner.
A huge thank you to the incredible team at PVE. Perth Vet Emergency. From the moment little Ginger arrived, you treated him with such kindness, compassion and care. We know this tiny little fighter captured the hearts of so many of you. Thank you for everything you did for him, for your support, and for helping give him the very best start on his journey. We are truly grateful.
And finally, to Ginger's village...
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
Thank you to every single person who donated, shared our appeal, left a kind message or kept Ginger in your thoughts. Your kindness, generosity and encouragement carried us through a stressful day.
It really does take a village, and because of your incredible support, Ginger has been given the chance to live the happy, healthy life that every kitten deserves.
This is just the beginning of Ginger's recovery, and we'll continue to share updates as he heals. For now, we're keeping everything crossed for a smooth recovery and looking forward to watching him grow stronger every day.
Thank you for believing in Ginger, for believing in Deedlebug, and for helping us write the first chapter of what we hope will be a very happy ending. 🧡🐾

🧡 Deedlebug Needs Your Help 🐾
Today, we're asking for your help for one very special little boy.
At just 14 weeks old, little Ginger has suffered a fractured femur and now needs urgent orthopaedic surgery in the hope of saving his leg.
This sweet little boy has his whole life ahead of him, and we are determined to give him every chance to grow into the happy, playful kitten he deserves to be.
The surgery to repair Ginger's leg is estimated to cost around $3,000. As a small, self-funded, registered not-for-profit charity, unexpected emergencies like this place enormous pressure on our rescue. Every dollar we receive goes directly back into the cats and kittens in our care, and right now, we need your help to give Ginger the best possible chance of keeping his leg.
How You Can Help 🧡
If you are able to donate no matter how big or small, you will be directly helping to fund Ginger's surgery and the veterinary care he needs on his road to recovery.
Every donation, every share and every kind word truly makes a difference. If you're unable to donate, sharing Ginger's story could help it reach someone who can.
Sometimes, one tiny kitten needs an entire community behind him. Today, Ginger is that kitten.
Please help us give this brave little boy the happy, healthy future he deserves.
