Parents, carers and kin across WA are invited to play a vital role in shaping how the Thriving Kids program is designed and delivered.
Thriving Kids is a national initiative designed to provide additional support for children aged 0β8 years (inclusive) with developmental delay and/or autism with low to moderate support needs, along with their families and carers. It aims to ensure children and families can access appropriate supports to help them in their everyday lives.
Kiind is working with the Department of Communities to host a series of consultation sessions to better understand the experiences, needs, and priorities of WA families. These sessions are a valuable opportunity to have your voice heard.

Today marks the beginning of Disability Pride Month. Throughout July, we celebrate the diversity, history and achievements of people with disability.
Now more than ever, it is essential that people with disability are seen, heard and valued, particularly at a time of system reform.
At Kiind, we are proud to support a community of families raising children with disability, as well as parents and carers who live with disability themselves.
The Disability Pride flag reflects the diversity of the community, with each colour representing diverse experiences:
π’ Green: Invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
π΅ Blue: Psychosocial disabilities
βͺ White: Sensory disabilities
π‘ Yellow: Neurodiversity and developmental disabilities
π΄ Red: Physical disabilities
β« Charcoal background: Symbolises the anger and mourning for victims of violence and abuse
This month, and every month, we stand alongside the disability community in celebrating identity and working towards a more inclusive future.
