GIVEAWAY — Win a $500 Proteaflora Voucher

The guessing game continues.

This clue takes us to South-Western Western Australia, one of the most biodiverse plant regions on earth.

More than 8,000 plant species are endemic to this region and found nowhere else in the world. Some of the most ornamental and impressive Banksia species are found here. Of the 76 Banksia species recorded, 62 occur only in Western Australia.

Across every season something is in flower in this landscape. According to Bush Heritage Australia, this creates a year-round supply of nectar and pollen - supporting one of the highest concentrations of pollinators in the country.

This remarkable ecosystem is where the story of our next plant release begins.

At this year’s Melbourne International Flower & Garden Show, we’ll introduce the first plant in a brand-new series of Australian natives.

It traces back to an iconic species from south-western Australia…

…but we didn’t name it after the plant.

We named it after the pollinator that keep it alive.

Think you know what it is?

Like. Comment your theory. Share to your story.

Over the next two weeks we’ll release more clues revealing the relationship behind the name. Those who guess earlier in the sequence will have a greater chance of winning.

We’ll be selecting a lucky winner who will receive a $500 Proteaflora online store voucher.

Winners and our big reveal announced 18th March.
