Oh my, introducing Basil and his mum, Patricia. These guys are new into care with TRC but they are winning hearts at light speed with their loud purrs, their sweet natures and those looks! No foster fails allowed for their carers so they will be up for adoption as soon as they’re ready. We already know that they’ll be missed!

Our cupboards are bare!

With more animals being added to our care, The Rescue Club is running low on supplies, particularly quality kitten dry food. Our crew particularly favours Royal Canin or Advance brands but any quality brands are appreciated. Drop off points are in Nunawading and Blackburn or even at East Doncaster Vet Hospital corner Peach Way.

If you would prefer to give a financial gift, please message us for our bank details.

Thank you for helping us to keep these little ones safe and sound.

Don’t you just love a lazy Sunday morning? Everyone here sure does!
What does your morning look like?

There's nothing quite like a litter of kittens in play mode! These littles had lots of energy to burn today in one of their many play sessions.

Tomorrow is a noisy day. The advertising world is screaming it and so are many of the other places we visit. For some, it's a wonderful day of celebration and joy, but we know that is not the case for everyone.

We honour the women that love and have loved the furry kids in their lives.

May they let you sleep in, be patient in waiting for snack time, wee in all the right places and provide you with all the snugs you'd like.

There’s a reason why every pet adopted by us is microchipped, and not only because we are required to by law.

Back in January, one of our cats, Bonbon, had been fostered with a family for one month and was luckily adopted by them! The cheeky monkey managed to push though a window the night after her adoption, and while every effort was made to get her back home, she avoided our efforts and went on the run, back to a life she knew before she found us.

Her family searched every night for over a month, posted signs around the area and on social media, installed trail cameras, and followed up on tipoffs from the community. We were confident in her ability to keep herself safe, and were reassured that this time she was fully vaccinated, desexed and and had a microchip that contained her owner’s details should she ever be scanned.

You can imagine the shock when a local vet called her new owners this week, three months after she was last seen, saying that she had been brought into the clinic, scanned and was ready for collection. Her new family and previous foster carer were delighted to see her on pick up. Her appearance seemed to indicate that she was being fed for some time.

Community service announcement to please remember to update your microchip details whenever there is a change in your contact details. It literally is the difference between you getting your animal back.

Today while we remember, we also acknowledge the animals of war.

The horses that charged into danger, the dogs that served beside soldiers, the donkeys that transported the fallen, the pigeons that carried messages through chaos… none of them chose war, yet all of them showed loyalty and courage.

They served. They suffered. They deserve to be remembered too.

Did you know that as well as the red poppies to remember and honour the fallen humans there are also purple poppies to honour the fallen animals?!

Lest we forget ❤️💜
