Nina Simone and so many more. In 2010 Tamma underwent vocal surgery, twice. She lost her voice completely, and it destroyed her to face the possibility that she may never sing again. Tamma was determined to get her voice back - not being able to sing again was NEVER an option. Tamma had 6 long years of rehabilitation, travelling back and forth between Melbourne and New Zealand to ensure she was seeing the leading professionals to give herself the best chance of recovery. Being introduced to industry respected vocal coach Cheryl McLeay changed Tamma’s life. Cheryl taught Tamma all about laryngeal biomechanics, the law of sound, vocal care, technique, endurance, and also worked on building her confidence back up. Now Tamma holds her own vocal workshops in Melbourne, passing on her wealth of vocal knowledge to as many artists as she can! Tamma finds music soul-healing and writes songs to share her stories and connect with others - “Life is a unique journey for each and every one of us. I write music that is relatable to others, with the hope I can give them some form of happiness or motivation to keep at it”.
