If you're using Microsoft Access and you suddenly see errors like:

"No more connections can be made to this remote computer at this time"
(or on Windows 11: "The number of connections to this computer is limited and all connections are in use right now")

It might not actually be an "Access problem".

I recently helped a client where the real cause was the PC hosting the Access back-end file. When a Windows 10/11 workstation is used as a "server", built-in connection limits can be reached quickly - even with a small team.

Common signs include:

lock files (*.laccdb) that won't delete

random cases where the database won't open

I've written up the root cause and practical options to fix it here:

If you're dealing with this and you're not sure whether it's the database, the network, or the hosting setup, send me a message and I'll help you work out the best path forward.

Financial Reporting and Budgeting Tool
Our Financial Reporting and Budgeting software tool, provides consolidated reporting and budget preparation.
This software provides the business with timely financial reporting by significantly reducing report preparation time, and providing data integrity.
It provides 'one true source' of data for reporting, which is difficult to achieve with spreadsheets.
The Budgeting Tool begins with actuals at a point in time, and includes the option to calculate specific items based on the budgeted value of other items. For example, superannuation could be based on a percentage of budgeted wages and Payroll Tax based on a percentage of budgeted wages and super.
This application was developed for a medium sized enterprise and can easily be adapted to suit the needs of any business.
