Bakehouse Studios - Artist Residency - part 1 A few months ago, I received an email inviting me to be one of the artists for the inaugural Artist-in-Residence Program at Bakehouse Studios.

When artists go out on a limb and allow themselves to be vulnerable, that is when connection is at its ripest. Everyone at Opening Night for West Footscray Arts Writers Festival went there. My very existence felt irrevocably changed for the good. Thank you.
Maxine Beneba Clarke for trusting me with your poems and joyously daring to step out of your comfort zone with me. Rebecca Hart for being open and letting go of the grid, making the notes into expressions.
Sarah Ward for your knowledge and experience in the lightest of touches and the bellyest of laughs. Jess Lilley nd Donita Richards for putting together a series of unlikely combinations and giving us the room to make them work. Thabani Tshuma The Orbweavers Jinghua Qian Emilie Collyer Martha Latham and Chris Ferrick for making me feel so damn lucky to be sharing the stage with you all! Footscray Hotel Choir for the sumptuous sounds that eased us all in to the evening and the venerable S***f Puppets for scaring and delighting us in equal parts.
I remember why I do this. 🧡🥰
