At a clinic recently, I watched one of the riders figure something out.

She stopped fixing things. Every time something felt slightly off, instead of changing her approach, she just... kept going.

Same rhythm. Same story. And after a few minutes her horse let out this long breath and dropped his head.

That's it. That's the whole thing.

Clinics give you that moment of seeing it. But then you go home and the arena is quiet and you can't remember what it felt like, so you start changing things again.
