My mate, recently discharged WO2, owns Resinate Wood Co and made this chess board from clutter.

Materials Needed:

Red cupcake liners – various sizes
Glue gun / craft glue
Sticky tape
Popsicle sticks
Red paint
Green paint
Black paint / black marker

Instructions:

Paint your cupcake liners red.

Paint the popsicle sticks green.

When the red paint is dry, use either black paint or a black marker to create the inside of the poppy.

Cut a wavy edge on the largest size of your cupcake liner.

Do the same on the smaller one (or cut a larger wavy edge if you only have ones of the same size).

Then stick your two cake cases together with the smaller one on the inside.

Make all the poppies different and not symmetrical so they're unique.

Once the glue has dried, turn over and apply the green popsicle stick with sticking tape / glue gun (depending what you have available).

Make as many poppies as you want.
