It was wonderful to be acknowledged at last week’s “Bendigo – Built on gold” tram launch at the Bendigo Gold Mines 😄

Inspired by time, this concept takes its inspiration from the time of the Gold Rush in Bendigo. In an eye catching way it communicates that we are a city built from the gold we mined. The 3D kind of unveiling page really demonstrates a sense of gold and is the idea of pages in Bendigo’s history but also representing Bendigo as a great city to live in. Having the words ‘Built on Gold’ in front of the mine workers has a double meaning to suggest that we appreciate their hard work.

The colour palette was inspired by the old black and white images and went perfectly with the white of the tram. And the gold is what brings it to life.

I wanted a font that suggested the period of the gold rush but also wanted to keep it bold and strong. I achieved this by using an existing font and altering it to get a balance of vintage but bold and easy to read (This is a new font created for this concept). I ultimately wanted to communicate to current Bendigo residents as well as tourists staying in Bendigo that the foundation of our city was ‘Built on Gold’.

Sometimes it's can be difficult to create a logo with a longer business name, but I love how this brand has all come together in a nice serving platter 😄❤️

I enjoyed working with Bill Greville from Suite 418 Hospitality IT, and love the colour palette… Just simple but elegant.

I’m extremely excited to share my latest artwork created for Melbourne Opera’s ground-breaking regional production of Wagner’s Der Ring Des Nibelungen (The Ring Cycle) opens on Friday 24 March at Ulumbarra Theatre.

Fire up the camera and get to Bendigo’s hottest selfie spot!

The Rosalind Park piazza is home to a fiery new installation celebrating Richard Wagner’s epic opera series, Ring Cycle, coming to Bendigo’s Ulumbarra Theatre for five weeks.

Produced by Melbourne Opera, the critically acclaimed opera blockbuster will be a major tourism draw for Bendigo and the region as the entire Ring Cycle series will be performed three times from Friday March 24 until Sunday April 30 at the Ulumbarra Theatre, attracting opera fans from all over Australia and internationally.

The Ring Cycle series consists of four individual operas, Das Rheingold, Die Walküre, Siegfried and Götterdämmerung, and draws on characters from Norse mythology. The plot revolves around a magic ring forged from gold and a part of the story is set in a gold mine. Theatre audiences will be immersed in gods, giants, serpents, Valkyries (warrior women) and a dragon guarding the gold.
