Whittling a wooden stamp to - hopefully - can produce miniature medieval encaustic tiles from it for my library, attempt no. 3 (ahem! 🙄🤪). I‘m using some fairly old carving tools which were all handmade by my grandfather many, many, many moons ago and handed down to me. As it was a poor time during and after WW2 and there was not much available he just used for it whatever was at hand. I greatly believe he even hammered some leftover iron pieces into the right form to act as whittling tools. After many years still amazed by this little box every time I open it. There are even one finished and another two unfinished Edelweiss carvings in it that he must have made in his time... @ Vienna, Austria
