How long has it been for you that you went down a water slide?
Well for me it had been a very long time....until yesterday! While my daughters (3 and 7) and my husband went down every water slide in the park, my head filled with fear and worry about them and about what could possibly go wrong. After my eldest went down the slide in the picture with my husband, she asked if I would go down with her. I didn't want to let her down, so I climbed up the stairs despite my worries. Standing up at the top and watching everyone heading down the slide the thoughts in my head got louder and louder and I had every possible idea in my head that could go wrong. But instead of giving in to those thoughts I challenged them and put them aside. I still had a funny feeling in my stomach by the time it was our turn but seeing the smile on my daughter's face and her excitement topped it all. We went down the "scary" slide...and guess what NOTHING happened and we had the best time! (And ended up going down all the other slides too 😜)
So I challenge you...how often do you let unnecessary fear get in the way of living life and having fun? Maybe next time, just notice your thoughts but then put them aside and give it a go anyway...you never know, you might have the best time of your life!
