🌟We are proud to announce that DCS Computing will be a part of the latest Horizon Europe project:🌟

🌎 ClimAir: Climate Change and Air Contamination 🔬

The ClimAir project uses AI to tackle climate change, air pollution, and respiratory diseases in Europe. By collecting data on greenhouse gases, air pollutants, and disease prevalence, it aims to improve public health through AI-driven interventions.

With a network of 21 partners across 15 countries, including health centers in Spain, Luxembourg, Ukraine, Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Romania, and Poland, ClimAir will test and validate tools for health workers, urban planners, and policymakers. The goal is to influence policies, reduce respiratory diseases, and promote healthier environments in European cities.

☺️DCS Computing is happy and proud to be an important part of this project.

🌟 Final Feature Spotlight: CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0 Updates 🌟

We’re wrapping up our feature spotlight series just before Christmas, with a look at some further powerful new additions and updates in CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0! Here’s what’s new:

1️⃣ cfdemSolverInter

- Introducing a new VoF solver based on the latest OpenFOAM- 10 code base, now replacing cfdemSolverInterDyM.
- Planned updates will integrate phase change and IBM
(currently implemented separately) into this solver for
enhanced simulation versatility.

2️⃣ Electrostatic Force Model

- A new electrostaticForce model that calculates far-field forces
from electric fields acting on charged particles.
- Example applications include triboelectric charging and particle
interactions, like Styrofoam sticking to surfaces.

3️⃣ ParticleSizeDiffSmoothing

- This new smoothing model is tailored for polydisperse particle size distributions, improving accuracy for varied particle sizes.
- The model offers a size-dependent smoothing scheme specifically designed for Euler-Lagrange simulations.

Thank you for joining us in this feature spotlight series! We’re excited to see how CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0 can elevate your simulations. To learn more, visit https://dcs-computing.odoo.com/r/ndm or reach out with any questions.

We are looking forward to share with you the news about our upcoming new release in early 2025!

🔍 Feature Spotlight: Composition Particles Model 🔍

In the latest CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0 release, we’re introducing the Composition Particles model, which allows particles to be defined as a composition of multiple species. This advancement supports simulations where the mass of each species can vary independently, such as in chemical reactions.

With this model:

Each species concentration and density can be specified, enabling precise control over particle behavior.
The particle template is built from a composition of species, opening new possibilities for multi-species, reactive, and complex material simulations.
💡 What’s Next? Stay tuned for our upcoming release where particles will dynamically change mass and size based on species concentration, further expanding the realism of composition-based simulations!

🔍 Feature Spotlight: Solidification Model for Particle Growth 🔍

We’re excited to introduce a new solidification model in our latest CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0 release! This model allows particles to grow as liquid solidifies on colder particles, capturing critical interactions between temperature and phase change.

🌡️ Showcase: In this example, hot liquid is poured over cold particles. As the liquid cools and reaches the particles, it solidifies, causing particle growth. When particles reach melting temperature, they gradually melt over time. This process is modeled with a closed mass and energy balance to ensure accuracy and conservation.

This new feature is ideal for industries focused on thermal processes, coating, and phase change applications. Follow along as we continue to explore CFDEM®coupling 6.4.0 features, and feel free to reach out with questions or visit https://dcs-computing.odoo.com/r/SmH to learn more!
