Have you ever experienced the magic of a fluorescence night dive or an ostracods night dive?

It's a whole new world down there! During this specific fluorescence night dive you will witness the stunning glow of corals, anemones, and other marine creatures in a way you had never seen before. Fluorescence occurs when marine organisms absorb the blue light from our dive torches and emit a beautiful array of colors. It's like a neon light show in the ocean! Not only is it fascinating to watch, but it also helps us understand more about the behavior and communication of marine life. Come and share your experience with us!

By the way did you know that ostracods, also known as seed shrimp, are tiny crustaceans that live in freshwater and marine environments? These fascinating creatures are less than 1mm in size but play a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems. They serve as a food source for larger organisms and help to recycle nutrients in the water. Scientists also use ostracods as bioindicators to monitor the health of aquatic environments. Who knew that such small creatures could have such a big impact?

⚠️ Important SCTLD Update: After careful consideration and assessment, STINAPA, as managing organization of the Marine Park has made the difficult decision to close the north side of Bonaire for diving, from north of Karpata to Malmok including Washington Slagbaai National Park from May 1st, 2023 until further notice due to Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease (SCTLD).

The reason being that Wekua Point has been identified as a natural barrier that could prevent contaminated water from flowing north, creating a possibility for the north to be guarded. We are not taking this decision lightly but it’s essential to protect our precious reefs & marine life.🐠

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this challenging moment and please remember to follow the regulations implemented to slow down the spread such as avoiding contaminated areas, decontaminating your gear, and not touching the reef.

Last week Rob, Ally, Sarah & Oskar completed their Open water Class in Bonaire with Instructor Robbert (AKA Baloo) Rob did the full course whereas Ally, Sarah and Oskar started their training back home in the states already and finished the Open water part in Bonaire.
