One of the greatest skills we can develop as brand builders, business owners, or people who work with brands is the ability to be a generalist. 👀
Not because we need to know everything.
But because we need to understand how everything connects. (Yeepppppp)
A brand is never just marketing.
It’s the product, the pricing, the customer experience, the website, the content, the numbers, and the growth strategy.
Every decision impacts another.
The best brand builders I’ve met aren’t always the deepest specialists in one area. They’re often the people who can zoom out, see the bigger picture, and connect the dots. 🧩
That’s something I’ve come to embrace about myself over the years.
I’ve always been fascinated by the entire business behind a brand, not just one function of it.
Because when you understand how the pieces work together, you build stronger strategies, make smarter decisions, and create stronger brands.
Brands don’t grow in silos. They grow when every part of the business works together. (So yes, get chummy with the finance team, with your creative team and all the teams (or individuals)).
