How to Fire Tags Only on Specific Pages in GTM

Step 1: Open Your GTM Workspace

Go to [tagmanager.google.com](https://tagmanager.google.com)
Select your container

Step 2: Create or Edit a Tag

Go to Tags → New (or edit an existing one)
Example: A GA4 Event, Meta Pixel, or any tracking tag

Step 3: Configure a Page-Specific Trigger

1. Go to Triggers → New
2. Choose Page View (or DOM Ready if you want to wait until the page loads fully)
3. Under “This trigger fires on” → Select Some Page Views
4. Add your condition:

Page URL contains `/thank-you`
OR Page Path equals `/checkout/success`
OR Page Hostname equals `example.com` (if only on a specific domain)

Step 4: Attach the Trigger to Your Tag

In the Tag setup, select your custom trigger instead of “All Pages”
Save

Step 5: Test in Preview Mode

1. Click Preview in GTM
2. Enter your site URL and navigate to the specific page
3. Confirm the tag fires only on that page

Step 6: Publish

Once confirmed, click Submit → Publish

✅ Pro Tips:

Use Page Path instead of full URL if the domain may change (staging vs production).
If multiple pages need the same tag, use “contains” conditions with OR logic.
Always test on multiple pages before publishing.
